Seals with ClubsBitcoins poker website Seals With Clubs made the headlines in December 2013 when the website confirmed that it had been targeted by hackers and its database had been compromised resulting in a cyber theft of 42,000 passwords. The security breach was addressed and after upgrading its security features, the website continued its operations.

Seals With Clubs faced security issues once again in 2015 and posted a notice on its website without being specific about the nature of the security breach.

The website has shutdown operations and has not confirmed as to how long the website will be inactive. Players were informed that the website was in “a perpetual state of jeopardy” and the owners and operating staff have decided to close operations in the best interests of the company and players. A number of players have taken to popular poker forums to express their frustration and disappointment.

The website asked players not to make any bitcoin deposits and make use of the withdrawal option and clear their bitcoin accounts. The statement read

All player funds and data remain intact and the issue was not software related. We do not believe any of our bitcoin wallets used in operations to be compromised or lost. However, this event has made the majority vote of the ownership and team agree that shutting down operations is the best move for safety and security purposes.

The Seals with Clubs website initially reported concerns on the 11th of Feb after tweeting about an unspecified hardware failure but promised its customers that the website would be back in a couple of days. On the 15th of Feb, the website asked users to be patient due to the extended downtime.

The next report confirmed that the website had been seriously compromised and players were advised to withdraw their bitcoins immediately as Seals With Clubs officials believe that it is possible for their domain to be seized and communication with players could be hindered.

The Seals With Clubs website has done reasonably well and company owners have plans to set up a brand new bitcoins poker website in the near future. The new poker platform will be called SwC 2.0 and will be located in Antigua. The company owners will most likely assemble a brand new team for the launch of SwC 2.0 and will invest heavily to ensure that its security network it of the highest standard.
