Zynga is the biggest developer of social games and has a global player database of over two hundred million active players. The company is responsible for launching some of the most popular games on Facebook such as FarmVille, CityVille and Zynga Poker. Zynga has always tried to stay abreast of the competition by innovating and using technology to keep updating and improving all of its social games.
In September 2014, Zynga announced that it was going to release a new version of Zynga Poker in order to upgrade the game, improve the graphics and gives its online poker players a better playing experience. However, after a couple of months, Zynga poker players have been less than happy with the new version and have requested Zynga to give them access to play the original version.
The old version of Zynga poker was launched back in 2007 and proved to be an immediate hit that had over 350 million registered users. Although the game brought in significant revenue for Zynga, the company initially planned on retiring the old version because it believed the new version had more to offer. The new version of Zynga poker is currently no 8 on iOS casino games and no 26 for the top grossing lists for all iOS games. These results are pretty positive for Zynga but a majority of Zynga poker players still want to be able to play the old version of Zynga.
This has prompted the company to change its plans in retiring the old version. Zynga Poker has confirmed that it will now offer its players the old version under the caption of Zynga Poker Classic and the new version, giving them the option to choose the game they want to play.
In a statement, the vice president of games for Zynga Poker, Jon Liu said
We value all of our player communities and want you to know that we take the introduction of new products and features very seriously. We have heard from many of you that you like the look and feel of the new Zynga Poker, while others miss the classic design and play style of the original game.
The company stated that the Zynga Poker Classic will most likely be launched towards the end of November on the iOS and then later on Android. Those players who wish to move their account over to Zynga Poker Classic will be able to move their profile, chips and history easily.
