888 Poker888poker had users complain about connectivity issues during October and November 2014 but those issues appeared to be addressed by the website as the complaints reduced after this period.

However, there have been a number of complaints raised by 888poker players who constantly get disconnected while they are playing at the online poker website.

The numerous player complaints caused 888poker to cancel a number of planned events during the past couple of weeks and 888poker decided to address these connectivity issues by introducing a special ‘Pause Tournament‘ button that users can press when they are confronted with network disturbance and connectivity issues. This new pause tournament button will allow poker players to put the event ‘on hold’ and once they re-connection they will have the option of continuing the game or canceling the event and getting a refund.

888poker has stated on the popular Two plus Two poker forum that these connectivity issues are due to the problems they are having with their internet service provider (ISP). Some industry analysts state that such problems can occur when an online poker website’s security network has been breached and hackers tamper with the website. Online poker websites would never admit to be hacked as it would result in bad publicity which could be detrimental to their online poker business.

888poker has assured its players that it is prioritizing this connectivity issue and will take immediate steps to bring about a permanent solution. While these connectivity issues have interrupted 888poker players, it has not prevented them from re-connecting with the website again or caused them to move over to a competitor’s website. PokerScout recently released data for July 2015 which showed that the online poker industry as a whole experienced a 12% decline in player traffic when compared to June 2014. However, 888poker had a decline of just 1.8% in player traffic in July 2015 and had an average of 2,034 players on the website.

888poker released a statement which read

Tournament clocks will stand still during this pause – same as in the hourly break of tournaments. We will resume activity once the network returns to normal behavior or cancel tournaments altogether, ensuring players are automatically refunded in accordance with 888’s disconnection policy.

888poker will also be looking into its network security measures to ensure that its network has not been breached.
