888 PokerThe inaugural 888Live Festival is kicking off in London between Oct. 13 and Oct. 23 at the Aspers Casino. Hosted by the second largest online poker website in the world, 888poker has launched this new series to give poker fans a chance to experience the 888poker’s live tournaments.

The 888Live festivals are a new introduction by the website based on the increasing popularity of live poker tournaments. 888Live festivals are bigger than the live events currently hosted by 888poker, having a greater range of games with longer structures, bigger guarantees as well as more variety in buy-ins.

888poker hopes the revamped format will improve player experience and engagement.

Under this series, there will be three festivals held in three different locations across the world. The very first festival is being held at London and will be hosted by Team888 Ambassador Kara Scott. Spread over 11 days, the festival will have 17 tournaments and a few satellites starting at $165 and going up to a high of $2,650. The total prize pool for the event expected to exceed $500,000.

The event has its origins in the tournament that’s held on the 888poker site and has a cap of 36 players although alternates can be used. Similarly the $165 Turbo Mega Deep tournaments will also be running throughout the festival, offering players a chance to play games with faster structures.
