Flamingo Las VegasThanksgiving is celebrated all over the U.S and people are encouraged to sit down and find something to be thankful about. On the eve of thanksgiving, the 27th of November, the Flamingo Las Vegas poker room was filling up as usual and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, until Caesars Entertainment’s record-breaking “Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot” was finally hit for a record breaking $766,951.

Events unfolded quickly with a hand from one of the Texas hold’em tables that spread across the room. The game eventually came down to a player who went by the name of “Gary” and came from Costa Mesa, California and Linda who hails from Georgetown, Indiana.

Gary had in his hands the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} while Linda had a {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. In the end the flop, turn, and river ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and went down all the way to the river. In the end, Gary had turned one of the best hands, a royal flush, and that always mean that Linda and her quad jacks were going to finish second.

Once the news of the hand was published in the poker room, the entire room broke out into applause and rightly so. The excitement spread throughout Las Vegas at participating Caesars Entertainment poker rooms. One of the main reasons for the excitement is because all players who were actively playing in any of the rooms automatically earned a share of the jackpot.

In the end, there were 198 players in poker rooms spread across the Flamingo Las Vegas, at Harrah’s Las Vegas, Quad Resort & Casino,Bally’s Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and Caesars Palace. All these players were eligible to earn a share of $766,951.

Based on a statement from the company,

This multi-casino promotion offers poker players of all skill levels the opportunity to play for a chance at life-changing money.
