The World Poker Tour along with the World Series of Poker are arguably two of the biggest poker tournaments in the world as poker professionals from across the globe compete for some of the biggest cash prizes in the industry. Amateur poker players and poker enthusiasts who are unable to attend these live events have the opportunity to watch the action on television and follow their favorite poker players.
FOX Sports Networks recently announced that it will broadcast the 13th edition of the World Poker Tour from the 15th of February. Fox has secured the rights to broadcast a total of 35 episodes of the World Poker Tour and expects high ratings for the show as the WPT has been on television for over 10 years and has built a strong legion of fans.
ClubWPT.com will sponsor the 13th edition of The World Poker Tour and has plans to bring in a number of new aspects to the show such as behind the scenes coverage featuring some of the most popular casino properties across the globe, an upgraded Monster Bar and an enhanced final table set. Lynn Gilmartin will anchor the show and veteran commentators Vince Van Patten and Mike Sexton will cover the 13th edition of the WPT.
In a statement, WPT Supervising Producer Mandy Glogow said
Very few television series have the longevity of the World Poker Tour, and this season we continue to evolve our presentation of WPT’s action-packed poker tournaments with episodes that appeal to both casual viewers and hardcore poker enthusiasts. We thoroughly enjoy telling the stories of poker players as they compete for life-changing windfalls, and look forward to showcasing Season XIII to the world throughout the next several months.
