Nevada has introduced a policy called Know Your Customer (KYC), which requires Nevada-based poker operators to verify a player’s identification within 30 days of his/her date of registration. This policy can create serious problems for smaller operators who do not have proper verification tools to verify identification.

However, Player Verify has recently applied for a license to provide online poker gaming services, and if the application is approved, KYC will become easier for online poker companies based in Nevada.

The regulatory body in Nevada also wants its online poker room operators to encrypt all personal details revealed by customers. This requirement is also creating serious problems for online poker operators because such encryption is impossible with email, via which offshore gambling companies request identification proof. If Nevada approves Player Verify’s application, all these problems will be easily solved.

Player Verify, which was launched in 2010, is now among the leading self-exclusion and player verification services for internet gambling players and service providers. It offers a secure way for poker players online to reveal their sensitive personal information such as passport details, drivers’ license, and address proof with online gaming sites. Player Verify is also a partner of tru.ly, which makes it very easy for online gambling companies to verify the identity of US players. Besides, Player Verify offers self-exclusion services to check gambling addiction and problem gambling.

Mark Dalton, managing member of Player Verify says,

Nevada online poker sites know they have to follow KYC rules, and they do the best they can with the tools they have available. Now that our online poker service provider license is pending with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Player Verify is ready to give Nevada I-gaming sites a better, safer option for player verification.

Internet gambling companies licensed in Nevada will be in a better position to authenticate players’ identity proof instantaneously if they use Player Verify services. Player Verify has an Identity Checker tool, powered by tru.ly, which matches information revealed by players with public and government databases. Players are verified if the information matches.

Dalton said,

Player Verify exists to streamline player verification and safeguard players’ identities during the KYC process. We look forward to working with Nevada online poker sites to help them better meet the requirements of Nevada online gaming laws. We encourage online poker sites based in Nevada to contact us to learn how instant player verification can help their businesses.
