The poker tournament has gained considerable momentum during the last few weeks and has already seen 60 players qualify for the main event. This has resulted in the PPC Aruba World Championship already bringing in $120,000 in the prize pool before the event can even commence.

The PPC Poker Tour focuses on hosting destination and US based poker events and will host 3 special events before the Aruba World Championship. Two of those events will take place at the Fort Pierce Jai-Alai as well as the Poker in Florida for the 2014 Fort Pierce Poker Open. These events will have a $50,000 guarantee main event that has a $250 buy-in. The main event is scheduled to take place between the 4th to the 7th of September. The third event is a stop at the Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs which will take place between the 17th to the 21st of September. This will feature a $50,000 guarantee main event and a buy-in for $175. Players who enter these events will also stand a chance of qualifying for the PPC Aruba Championship.

In a statement, Sandy Swartzbaugh who is the commissioner of the PPC said

The PPC Poker Tour will send its most players to Aruba this year by far. It’s crazy to think 80-90 players will have won PPC Aruba Main Event packages from our stops before we land in Aruba.

Launching the $200,000 Main Event with over $150,000 in prize pool is very exciting. Mix in the allure of Aruba and we are looking forward to our biggest field yet. This year will be one crazy ‘poker-cation.

The PPC Aruba will have other exciting events as well such as LIPS tour events, a $5,300 buy-in High Roller No Limit Holdem/PLO Mix, small $65 buy-in turbo tournaments that take place each night at 10 p.m and the Senior Poker Tour.

The 2012 PPC Aruba World Championship featured only 31 players and the 2013 event had 88 players. However, tournament organizers are confident that the 2014 edition will far surpass all expectations. Those players who attend the PPC Aruba World Championship will also gain access to a special Gusto VIP Party that is hosted by Serock.
