Party Pokerpartypoker recently confirmed that it has upped the stakes for its much-anticipated mega tournament partypoker MILLIONS.

The tournament was first announced in September by the online poker website who stated that the tournament series was set to have a massive guaranteed prize pool of £5 million. partypoker has now increased the guaranteed prize pool by adding another £1 million bringing it to £6 million.

In a statement , Simon Trumper Tournament Director of the MILLIONS said,

With a £550 Day 1 buy in and a £5,300 Day 2 buy-in, the payout must be attractive to both player bankrolls. Rob Yong asked me to work out a way that we could pay all players who make Day 4 but keep first prize at £1,000,000. Increasing the guarantee to £6,000,000 allows this, plus makes the event more player friendly for our international partners who intend to run Days 1-3 at their venues.

Rob Yong is the owner of the Dusk Till Dawn poker club located in Nottingham,UK which is one of those venues co-partnering with partypoker for the tournament. The tournament is a multi-venue no-limit hold’em event, with qualifying games crossing both live and online formats. The finals are scheduled for April 2017 which will be held at Dusk Till Dawn where the winner will walk away with £1 million.

Dusk Till Dawn

Under the new structure the top 279 players will be receiving a minimum payout of £5,000. Designed as a tournament with multiple qualifying options, qualifiers have already kicked off this month. Currently every Tuesday, online Day 1s are being hosted at partypoker and live Day 1s are held at Dusk till Dawn. The Caribbean Poker Party being held at Punta Cana is another event that will offer Day 1s this month.

Day 1 buy-ins is fixed at £550.00 and the player gets a starting stack of 100,000 chips. Players go through 14 levels after which remaining players head to Day 2s,either online or live.

Players have the option of joining Day 2s directly through a buy-in of £5,300. The dates that have so far been confirmed for these games are: Nov. 25 at the Caribbean Poker Party in Punta Cana and April 11 for at the partypoker online website. There will be two live Day 2s at Dusk till Dawn on April 18 and 19. Players will need to last 10 rounds to make it to the finals.
