eGaming Review Operator AwardsOn the 24th of November, the tenth edition of the eGaming Review Operator Awards was held in London and was attended some of the biggest decision makers and leaders in the poker industry The eGR awards is one of the most recognized events in the industry as the awards are given to companies and organizations that have done the most to promote, develop and expand the poker industry.

PokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world that is reported to have close to 70 million registered players took home the 2014 Poker Operation and Mobile Poker Operator awards.

Now owned by Canadian based Amaya Gaming, PokerStars continues to dominate the online poker industry and provides players with the largest array of cash games, highest prize payouts and hosts some of the biggest tournaments in the world. Amaya Gaming is a part of the Rational Group.

PokerStars has continued to dominate the industry and under the new leadership has continued to innovate and offers its customer the best online poker experience possible. In 2014, PokerStars has launched its PokerStars 7 client and introduced a new lottery-style sit-and-go that is known as Spin&Go. The Spin&Go promotion has received a lot of criticism at the start but went on to prove the critics wrong as the game was played more than 7 million times within the first 10 days of it being launched.

Some of the other awards presented during the eGR event included the outstanding contribution award for the development of the poker industry which was presented to Patrick Kennedy, the CEO of Paddy Power and the Operator of the Year award which went to William Hill.
