RightOfTheDot.comThe online gambling industry continues to grow at a rapid pace across the globe and online poker is one of most popular niches. Online poker companies are constantly searching for new methods to increase their online poker traffic in order to capture as much market share as possible and stay ahead of the competition.

While online advertising and SEO tactics do help in generating online poker traffic, having a popular and catchy domain name does help in building brand value and generating traffic. RightOfTheDot (ROTD) a specialist in online domain auctions has teamed up with Afilias, a premier domain registry operator to offer a limited edition of super premium dot poker domain names. The auction will take place at the NamesCon 2016 convention that is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas during Jan 2016.

The .poker domains were initially launched as premier domains in 2015 to cater to the 180 million global online poker players. These .poker domains were the target of online poker companies who wanted to offer players an exclusive online poker portal. The competition for these online poker domains is fierce as both legal and illegal gambling companies are out to capture a special domain name. The poker.org domain was a true example of how valuable poker domains can turn out to be as the domain was reportedly sold for a seven figure deal.

In a statement, Roland LaPlante, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer said

Every poker-focused supplier, tournament, gaming establishment and serious player should have a .POKER address. Afilias is proud to partner with RightOfTheDot and NamesCon to exclusively offer these excellent .POKER names at the industry’s premier domain auction event.

Some of the biggest online poker companies in the world such as PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, 888poker have already established their brand and have bought up a lot of online domains. The smaller online gambling companies are the ones who are eager to buy a strong domain name so that they can find some leverage to compete with the bigger players. Most medium sized online poker websites have to invest anywhere between $25,000 to $50,000 a month on online poker traffic to be able to generate revenue while bigger companies are estimated to be spending over $1,000,000 each month on online poker traffic.

The live auction of these special .poker domains will take place on the 11th of January and the NamesCon conference will be held at the New Tropicana Hotel & Casino. Those who would like to start pre-bidding for these domains can go to NameJet.com
