The world’s second largest poker site, 888poker is making it possible for players outside Australia to participate in one of the top global poker tournaments, the Aussie Millions.

Scheduled to be held from Jan. 11 to 30 at the Crown Melbourne, Aussie Millions is the biggest poker tournament to be held down under and typically attracts the biggest names in poker from all over the world.

Around 25 exciting events are scheduled to be held over the entire length of the festival.

The event with the top billing is the AUD $10,600 Aussie Millions Main Event which kicks off on Jan 22 and will run for 5 days ending on Jan 29. The Main Event will have three opening days, starting Jan. 22.

For those looking to enter the event on a budget, satellites are being held not only at the venue but also online. Two online satellites on 888poker having a buy-in of $1,050 have already kicked off – one began on Dec 25 and another on Dec 27. These were deep structured in format with two re-entries, and players will need to work their way to winning an entry ticket.

The official online partner 888poker has offered interested players two options to qualify for the Main Event. One option is for winning a seat valued at $8,250. In the other option, the winner gets a package worth $10,000 that offers not just the buy-in for the Main Event but also a three-night stay at the luxurious Crown Promenade Hotel for the entire period of the event. In addition the winner will receive $1,000 in cash for related travel expenses.

Those near the tournament venue can take part in on-site satellites that are being held at the Crown Casino. For players interested in just the Main Event, the Aussie Millions Main Event Rebuy Satellite with a buy-in of AUD $130 and re-buys of AUD $100 is being held on Jan. 17 at Crown Melbourne’s poker room. The satellite ensures one seat to the mega event and is the cheapest way to qualify for the event.

Apart from satellites for the Main Event, there are several other qualifiers for side events and other events that are a part of the schedule. Apart from satellites being held before the tournament, there will also be three satellites planned per day during the festival.
