SouthWest Poker NewsDuring the last three years, Southwest Poker News has been the arguably the most prominent poker news source in Arizona, New Mexico and other Southwestern states. However, from Feb 2014, the Southwest Poker News Magazine will merge into the Ante Up Magazine. This announcement was made by Ante Up Poker Media LLC and Arizona Poker News LLC who confirmed that from Feb 2014 there will be just one magazine released called Ante Up, YOUR Poker Magazine.

In a statement, Scott Long, who, with Christopher Cosenza, is publisher of Ante Up Poker Media LLC and Ante Up, YOUR Poker Magazine said

We’re excited to welcome Southwest Poker News’ readers and advertisers to Ante Up. Our combined forces will further cement Ante Up as the nation’s leading poker publication, and the potential for future growth is endless.

This merger will enable Ante Up to increase its physical press releases to 40,000 copies per month as well as expand its distribution locations to over 280 casinos and poker rooms that are spread all across the country. Ante Up is confident that this strategic merger will increase its readership as well as its page count in the coming months.

The company confirmed that Christopher Cronin, who is the founder of Arizona Poker News LLC and Southwest Poker News, will now take on the responsibility of being the Director of Sales for Ante Up Poker Media LLC and will work out of the Phoenix metro area.

Cronin who retains ownership of Arizona Poker News LLC and the Southwest Poker News name said

I really feel that the hard work and dedication from myself and my staff has been recognized, and we look forward to bringing our readers the same great coverage on a much larger scale. I am also very thankful for the advertising partners who have remained loyal, and made it possible to bring the poker players of the Southwest all of your poker news each month.

The company also confirmed that a number of Southwest Poker News writers will now take up a role with Ante Up and continue to submit articles. Some of these writers include Hans Hollenbeck (Colorado), Jon Zaun (Phoenix/North Arizona), Brian Pedersen (Tucson/South Arizona), and John Short (Southern Oklahoma/Texas) will now be official Ante Up Ambassadors in their respective locations.
