Hollywood Poker OpenSt Louis is all set to host the first ever Hollywood Poker Open which will take place between the 4th and 14th of April at the Hollywood Casino in St. Louis. The tournament is being promoted widely and is expected to draw some of the top players from the Midwest who will look to compete and win the tournament which will take place over a period of 11 days.

The Hollywood Casino is expecting a large turnout and is making arrangements for the same by getting an extra 40 tables in order to accommodate all of the players.

There are some interesting prizes including the $1,620 main event which will take place between the 12th and 15th of April. The winner of the tournament will not only walk away with $2,500 in cash but will also get admission to the $500,000 Guaranteed HPO Championship which is scheduled to take place between the 28th to the 30th of June at the M Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Participants who take part during the mega $245 satellite on the 4th of April and the $350 no limit hold’em event on the 5th of April will also be eligible for seats to the HPO Championship. Both these events on the 4th and 5th of April will also be held at the Hollywood St. Louis Poker Room.

In a statement, Denise Taykowski, poker manager at Hollywood Casino St. Louis said

It gives our poker players a chance to go head to head with some of the best players in the Midwest, win huge cash prizes, and even a seat to the national Hollywood Poker Open championship. We’re truly excited to see who will represent us at the Main Event in Las Vegas this June.

Some of the other action scheduled to take place at the Hollywood Casino in St. Louis include a $245 Senior’s event scheduled on the 7th of April and then $300 no=limit hold’em six-handed event along with a $245 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better which will take place on the 9th of April.

The preregistration for the event will open on the 3rd of April at 2 p.m. at the Sunset Cage.
