Zynga, one of the biggest names in social gaming and known for introducing online poker to Facebook, recently announced that it had entered into a partnership with the gambling giant Bwin.party.

According to Barry Cottle, an executive from Zynga, “Bringing together Zynga’s expertise in social gaming with the top international real money gaming operator is the best way to create the highest quality gaming experiences for our players in the UK…Partnering with an established leader like bwin.party is a strategic and prudent way for us to enter a key RMG market while giving local players the real money games they’ve been asking us for.”

As per the terms of the partnership worked with Bwin.party, Zynga will provide online poker services to the UK gambling market along with other online games by the first half of next year. This partnership will allow all the UK players tied with Zynga to access real money poker games on the same network. Bwin.party hosts a large network of poker players and by signing with Zynga they are extending their network as well as allowing those Zynga players to play against all the poker players with the PartyGaming poker network.

Norbert Teufelberger and Jim Ryan, both of whom act as co chief executive officers for Bwin.party, released a statement that announced the deal.

Zynga is the world’s leader in social games with hundreds of millions of active players worldwide and a significant player base in the U.K. We are delighted to have been selected as their chosen partner for this important step in their evolution, and hope to expand our relationship into other products and markets

Zynga is taking its partnership with Bwin. Party very seriously and both companies are looking forward to profits from the new deal. As per the agreement, Zynga will also be offering online casino games and the ever popular Farmville to its players. Mark Pincus, who is the chief executive and co-founder of Zynga commented on the deal,

While the last several months have been challenging for us, Zynga remains well positioned to capitalize on the growth of social gaming. It’s clearer than ever that along with search, shop and share, play is a fundamental pillar of the Internet… We don’t take these decisions lightly as we recognize the impact to our colleagues and friends who have been on this journey with us.
