Irish Players Able to Return to Unibet Poker

March 2, 2018 by Carolyn J Dawson

unibet pokerIt was back in 2015 that Unibet Poker officially closed its virtual doors to players based in Ireland. However, now it seems that these gamers will be welcomed back to the poker room with open arms. Unibet announced that it is to begin accepting Irish poker players once more, and a spokesperson for the company described the move as a “delight”.

It comes as a great decision by the platform, as two of its more prominent ambassadors are themselves from the Irish lands. The two co-hosts of the podcast known as ‘The Chip Race’ – Dara O’Kearney and David Lappin – are very well-known when it comes to Irish poker play. They exist as two of the country’s most well-known and respected professionals.

With the re-introduction of Irish players to Unibet Poker, a new welcome bonus has been set up for such players to take advantage of upon becoming members and depositing. This welcome bonus consists of a €500 playthrough bonus, an €8 cash game ticket for NL4 and three Unibet open qualifier tickets at the same time.

In addition to welcoming Irish players back to its platform, Unibet will also sponsor the Irish Live Poker Rankings for 2018. Each season will see a total of €10,000 in prizes given away, as well as on the annual leader board. The latter of these will see the winner receive a prize consisting of a €2,000 Unibet Open package. Meanwhile, the players who finish in positions second to fifth will receive a €500 UK Tour package instead.

The seasonal lead boards that occur will provide the winner with the same €500 UK Tour prize, while those in second through to fifth place will receive tickets to attend the Unibet Poker Supernova tournament, taking place online and worth €100 each. Furthermore, the poker room is set to choose six players at random from those in the Top 50 to also receive the €100 tickets for the Supernova event.
