Bertrand “ElkY” GrospellierSince the PokerStars platform lost Bertrand Grospellier, also known as “ElkY”, little has been heard from him. The poker player, who holds many accomplishments to his name, remained as a part of the PokerStars Team for over 10 years before making the decision to leave and go elsewhere. At the time of doing so, he stated that he was simply leaving his options open as far as the future goes. However, it wasn’t long before another well-known poker room in PartyPoker snapped him up.

The Frenchman was announced as the platform’s latest brand ambassador just a few short days ago. Grospellier mentioned that one of his main reasons for leaving the PokerStars platform behind was that pros no longer have any sort of leverage when it comes to the decision-making process. Despite the fact that there wasn’t any bad blood between him and his former poker room, ElkY did say that it had drained him of a certain amount of enthusiasm to continue on as an ambassador for PokerStars. At that time, he refused to provide any information upon where fans would see him next though.

While it’s true to say that nobody knows how many different options Grospellier had to choose from, he ended up going ahead with the PartyPoker offer. He now finds himself amongst some of the poker elite, such as Fedor Holz, Patrick Leonard and Jason Koon.

Grospellier Enthusastic About PartyPoker

Speaking in an official statement regarding his move, ElkY spoke of being extremely enthusiastic about future prospects when it comes to PartyPoker. One of the main features that turned his mind towards joining the brand was its ‘Poker First’ mindset, thereby hopefully boosting the overall experience for both fans and poker players around the world.

Furthermore, certain other ambassadors for the PartyPoker brand were ecstatic about Grospellier’s arrival. Tom Waters showed his enthusiasm for ElkY coming to the platform, stating that he’s a perfect ambassador for them.

It’s a bold and shrewd move for PartyPoker, as if recent news is to be believed, many are losing confidence and faith in the PokerStars platform. This has seen PartyPoker take the opportunity to try and strengthen its own position across the globe, with the hopes of becoming the market leader for online poker. Such moves have seen PartyPoker try to establish a greater presence within Europe, bringing forth a new liquidity pool. This will unite the players of the brand in both France and Spain, with further actions looking to upgrade their experience.

With the addition of ElkY to their rankings, PartyPoker hopes to bring a recognisable face to the team. This should help with the brand’s long-term expansion plans and additional changes that look to work out for the benefit of the players.
