Ultimate Poker recently announced that it has officially signed Antonio Esfandiari to be its brand ambassador. Ultimate Poker runs a popular online poker website and has plans to launch real-money poker later this year in Nevada.
The signing of Esfandiari will further help to establish Ultimate Poker’s reputation in the market as Esfandiari is as big as it gets in the poker community. Esfandiari is the number one player when it comes to winning famous tournaments and has accumulated more than $24 million in prize money throughout his career.
He has also three World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour titles to his credit.
The statement from Ultimate Poker states that Esfandiari will extend both “the voice and weight of a true champion to a brand committed to becoming the players’ choice for online poker.” The chairman of Ultimate Poker, Tom Breitling said
We’re thrilled to have Antonio Esfandiari represent our company. Antonio is the ultimate champion and modern poker player. He brings the gaming lifestyle to the online arena with his work-hard, play-hard attitude.
Fertitta Interactive LLC are the official owners of Ultimate Poker and have acquired a Nevada interactive gaming license during the month of October 2012. The license gives Fertitta Interactive the ability to use the Ultimate Poker brand to offer real-money online poker and has plans to make the offering available in Nevada towards the close of 2013.
In a statement, Esfandiari said
It feels awesome. I don’t really know how else to put it. It’s so wonderful to be with a company that is regulated by the Nevada Gaming Commission. It’s just huge. For me, I sleep good at night knowing that my name is associated with a company where I know for sure that everybody is going to get paid back and it’s completely legal and legit.
The deal between Esfandiari and Ultimate Poker was under negotiation for a quite a long time. Both Esfandiari and Breitling are said to be good friends and hence it was a lot easier to work out a business partnership that was mutually beneficial to both parties.
In his closing remarks, Esfandiari said now that he has signed a deal with Ultimate Poker he looks forward to sitting in his apartment in Las Vegas, Nevada and playing poker on a legal site. He was also excited about the cross-promotions available to the UFC. Players that will enable them to win packages and win special prizes from UFC.
