Daniel NegreanuThousands of people play the casinos and try their hand at poker games like blackjack and roulette but only a few achieve consistent success.

Daniel Negreanu is one such player who has dominated the poker circuit for a number of years and won as many as 6 World Series of Poker bracelets, 2 European Poker Tours and a number of other small tournaments that have significantly contributed to his career prize money.

The Canadian poker player is also a member of the poker hall of fame, and recently won the GPI American Poker Award for Poker’s Best Ambassador, he is also considered to be one of the greatest poker players in the history of the game.

Over the course of time, Negreanu has built a reputation for himself by collaborating with some of the biggest brands in the world, featuring on reality TV shows and even playing a cameo role in a Katy Perry video.

Poker enthusiasts are always looking for secret poker strategies and evasive poker tips and tricks that will give them an advantage over their competition. Negreanu recently revealed one of his success keys that has enabled him to become one of the top poker players in the world. Negreanu credits his vegetarian diet for keeping his fit both physically and emotionally, thereby enabling him to focus and concentrate when playing long hours at the poker table.

Negreanu wasn’t always a vegetarian and in the 90’s used to indulge in a heavy diet of meat, burgers, fries, potatoes and all kinds of alcohol. His poor eating habits and unhealthy lifestyle caused him to be lethargic and feel terrible. He then decided to take control of his eating habits and opted to become a complete vegetarian. Since then he has lost weight and regained his fitness which has enabled him to become a better poker player.

In a statement, Daniel Negreanu said

When I became vegetarian, the guys in poker mocked me. There was this idea that “real men eat meat” and they’d eat piles of crap around the table, like mounds of dead animals every hour. Now Poker has changed, in the past, high profile players were obese, now they’re fit. They’ve swapped their moobs for pecs. Players now are educated people, they’re smart, they do the research, they care about their health. It’s not like the old days

Negreanu also made it clear that he was not pushing veganism down anyone’s throat but seriously believes it helps make one more fit and alert, which are two essential qualities poker players need to have.
