The 2013 River Poker Series held at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, OK kicked off this month and has been running for the past two weeks. On Wednesday, the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em “No Juice” event began with a $300,000 guarantee. The event attracted 54 entries and was won by well known poker professional Maria Ho.
For the last two weeks, the WinStar Casino in Thackerville in OK has been playing host to the 2013 River Poker Series. The tournament has been well received and players from near and far have attended to try their hand. Maria Ho, a popular poker professional also attended the tournament and took part in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em “No Juice” event which had a $300,000 guarantee. Ho along with 53 other contestants entered the event but in the end it was Ho who won the event and walked away with 6 figures.
Ho has reportedly won $101,220 making this her 3rd six-figure score of her career. It was an exciting match as the final table saw Ho take on Kattamuri Sudwakarar who came in 2nd place with $75,000, Ari Engel who took the 3rd place with $50,250) and Jared Jaffee who took the 4th place with $34,260. Ho held her nerve to win the main prize and this 6 figure win brings Ho’s careers earnings to a whopping $1,441,972.
In a statement, Maria Ho said
It feels so great to finally close a tournament, and to win it here at WinStar, which is like a home to me, couldn’t be more perfect. I know a lot of players say ‘I felt it,’ which doesn’t always pan out, but going into Day 2, I really did feel it.
Ho had earlier attended the wedding of one of her close friends Vanessa Selbst in New York. She flew directly from New York to take part in the 2013 River Poker Series and was extremely happy with the result. Ho went on to thank her friend saying

Ho is currently one of the celebrity spokespersons for the WinStar Casino and has had a number of impressive wins in the last few years including the 2011 WSOP $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em where she finished 2nd and won $540,020 and the 2011 Aussie Millions AU$10,000 8-Game where she finished 2nd and won $70,000 Australian dollars.
