TonyBet Poker is the biggest open-face Chinese (OFC) poker room and has been building a strong database of players as OFC poker becomes more popular in the country. TonyBet Poker is constantly looking for new ways to promote its brand and build a stronger customer base. The company recently announced that it had signed Isabelle “No Mercy” Mercier as its latest brand ambassador.
Isabelle Mercier has had an impressive poker career till date and has over $1.2 million in career prize money. One of her biggest accomplishments was when she won the World Poker Tour (WPT) Ladies’ Night tournament in 2004. Mercier was also a brand ambassador for PokerStars until she decided to quit back in December 2009.
Mercier was excited to be a part of TonyBet Poker and her immediate strategy will be to promote OFC on the web and social media websites. Mercier stated that her initial research revealed that there was a lack of information pertaining to OFC and that was the first area that she would like to change. The 40 year old Canadian poker player will work with PokerNews and release a number of OFC strategy articles.
The articles will cover a number of topics including the history of OFC, basics of playing OFC, advanced strategies to win, anecdotes from players and recommendations for different OFC formats. Mercier has already released a couple of exclusive articles in an on-going series. The first article was entitled Open-Face Chinese Poker by Isabelle “No Mercy” Mercier, Part 1 and the second was OFC Poker Basics and Open-Face Chinese Poker by Isabelle “No Mercy” Mercier, Part 2: Counting Points and Royalties.
Mercier will also be responsible for hosting a weekly tournament on Tonybet Poker and helping to promote OFC across the globe. In a statement, Mercier said
