Pokestars New Jersey Spring Championship of Online PokerFor the third year in a row, the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) is set to make its mark on the poker world. After the tournament’s successful runs in both 2016 and 2017, the PokerStars platform is set to host it all over again. The event is set to run from April 14 through to April 30 and it looks to be a big series this year. The 2018 NJSCOOP is set to have a guaranteed prize pot of $1.3 million to give away, which will see it in contention as the largest ever online poker festival in New Jersey.

The final two weeks in April will be the time period when the series becomes active, with the final day of the month being host to the Main Event. In total, 80 separate events will take place in the series, with High and Low possibilities being available for all. The previously mentioned Main Event will have a $500 buy-in for the High version and will also come with a guarantee of $200,000. Meanwhile, the Low Main Event will have a $50 buy-in, whilst providing a guarantee of $40,000.

To compliment these events in the series, there are additional highlights, such as the $80,000 Sunday Special guarantee and the High Roller offering, providing a guarantee of $65,000. The schedule features an array of non-hold’em events and novelties for participants to enjoy to the maximum.

Rewards and Entry

It’s not only prize money that the NJSCOOP participants will be competing for. Alongside this, there are a few appealing bonus perks that are up for grabs. Two of the lucrative PokerStars Platinum Passes for the platform’s No Limit Hold’em Championship taking place in 2019 will be available to win. This Championship will take place in The Bahamas and the Platinum Passes have a value of $30,000 each. They exist as the most-yearned-after tickets in the poker world as of this moment. The winners of the High and Low Main Event tournaments will each receive one of these passes, ensuring their place at the Championship event.

Entry into the series tournaments is possible either via a direct buy-in at PokerStars or by one of the multiple satellite options on hand. Players can also benefit from one or two free options as well, such as the Main Event Freeroll Challenge. Alongside this, there’s a 40-seat freeroll that is available to any players who choose to enter other specific NJSCOOP events.

Speaking of the satellites, these are starting with entries from as low as $0.50 and are already in place at PokerStars New Jersey. You could go for a speedier route than this by playing the special Spin & Go tournaments for $4. Main Event seats are able to be awarded via this option.

Despite the NJSCOOP series only having a couple of years behind it, PokerStars has actually been running such SCOOP options on its international website since 2009. It was only in 2016 that the idea was brought over to New Jersey for the first time and number increased plentifully in the second year to the first. This has given PokerStars the intent to continue running it and, of course, see it grow.
