World Series of PokerThe World Series of Poker Circuit Event kicks off in North Carolina from the 4th of April and runs till 15th of April. This is the first time a major poker event is being staged in North Carolina and the event is expected to draw large crowds from all over the Southeast.

The event is scheduled to take place at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and will feature 12 unique tournaments that revolve mostly around Texas Hold-’Em poker. The event will feature both amateur as well as professionals who can sit in at a table with a starting range from around $300 and go all the way upto $1,500. The stakes for each of these tournaments are high and most players can expect to win thousands of dollars in prize money. a player can buy a seat at a table and compete for a chance to win thousands of dollars.

Joey Squiers who is 24 years old, plans to attend and play at the event. In a statement, Squiers said

The good thing about the World Series of Poker is that the buy-ins are very reasonable, which opens it up to a wide range of people

Squiers initially has plans to take part in some of the smaller games and if he wins, will then use his winnings to enter into the main event.

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino will benefit greatly from staging the event. It was only late last year when Harrah’s got permission from both the federal and state departments to hire live card dealers and provide its customers with Vegas-style games like poker, blackjack and craps. Harrah’s welcomed the approval and has gone on to hire hundreds of dealers who now man the live table games that take place every night.

Those players who take part in the main event poker tournament can expect to win prize money in the range of $200,000 to $250,000, while the smaller tournaments will be around $30,000 to $40,000 in prize money

The World Series of Poker is not only the most popular poker series tournament in the world but also one of the longest running series in the history of the game. Nolan Dalla who is the event director for the World Series of Poker said

We never know how many people are going to show up, but we’re expecting this to event in North Carolina to be very successful because this is the first time we’ve been in the region and because there’s a great poker tradition in that part of the country.
