Lock PokerLock Poker has announced that its players can qualify online for the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT), which will be held later in 2013. The online poker room, which runs on the Revolution Gaming Network, announced that it will run a number of qualifier satellites for the ISPT, giving its online poker customers an opportunity to take part in the event, which is scheduled to be held in June 2013 at London’s Wembley Stadium. Each qualifier satellite will have a buy-in of €300 and will be played every month till the ISPT begins. The winners of these qualifier satellites will get the opportunity to take part in the ISPT.

Lock Poker will hold the first qualifier on Feb 10, while the other qualifiers will be held on March 10, April 14, May 5, May 12, and May 19. The winners of these six qualifier satellites will get the opportunity to take part in the ISPT in London.

The organizers expect 30,000 players to take part in the online part of the ISPT, and the best 10% of these players will be actually going to London to take part in the live event. Players are also free to directly buy-in into the ISPT for €3,000. ISPT officials say that 70% of those players who finally reach Wembley Stadium in London will win cash.

The ISPT will begin online at a number of online poker rooms, including Lock Poker. Ten percent of the best online players will be sent to Wembley Stadium, where they will continue to play with their existing chips. On the second day of the ISPT, all the top players will start playing for the championship title. According to ISPT officials, a prize pool worth €10 million is likely to be created and it could become as large as €20 million.

The ISPT is the brainchild of Groupe Bernard Tapie, the French investment company, which tried to acquire Full Tilt Poker in a bid to make a success of this live poker event. However, the company was unable to acquire the online poker giant, as a result of which it postponed the event. Groupe Bernard Tapie has appointed top poker players such as Liz Lieu, David Benyamine, Michael Mizrachi, Patrik Antonius, and Sam Trickett as ISPT ambassadors.

Lock Poker is the only US friendly online poker room to offer ISPT qualifier satellites. The other online poker rooms offering ISPT qualifier satellites are NetBet Poker, PartouchePoker.com, and Poker770.
