Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, Atlantic CityThe poker news media is currently paying attention to the 2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event which is currently taking place at the Rio in Las Vegas.

Just as the 2016 edition of the WSOP comes to a close, the Borgata Poker Open has released its schedule for the 2016 stop.

The 2016 Borgata Poker Open is all set to take place between September 6 and 23 in Atlantic City at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

The tournament has a full schedule of events with exciting guarantees, including a few events with over seven figure prize pools making it an attractive proposition for poker players, both domestic and international.

The main headliner will be the WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship which will be held over six days starting September 18. The event which will be televised has a buy-in of $3,500 with a guaranteed pool prize of $3 million. The Championship will have two opening flights, on September 18 and 19 with unlimited re-entries. Players making it from Day 1A can compete in Day 1B as well, and then move onto to Day 2 with the best stack achieved over the two days of play.

The BorgataPoker.com website will be holding continuous rounds of satellite qualifiers in the lead up to the event offering players within New Jersey the opportunity to play as the buy-ins are extremely affordable. Other events are also expected to be included in the schedule which will allow players to take a shot and see if they can enter the main event.

During the 2015 edition, poker pro David Paredes won the first place beating over 1,027 players, taking home around $723,227 in winnings. Paredes had earlier been placed runner up in the 2014 Season XII World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open winning $499,549. This year the Borgata Poker Open will also play host to the PokerNews Cup which will be the first time that the Cup is coming to the United States. The Cup will be moving from its previous stop at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic to Atlantic City and is scheduled to take place between September 20-21.
