€1M GTD Battle of Malta Main Event
The Main Event features multiple flights running from October 5-9, with the last two Day 1s adopting a Turbo structure. Surviving players will proceed to Day 2 scheduled for October 9 and will battle it out until a winner is crowned on October 12.
Each player will kick off the action with a 25,000 chipstack, with blinds starting at 100/100 played to 40 minute levels for the regular flights. For the turbo flights (Day 1e and Day 1f), levels are set at 20 minutes, increasing to 60-minute levels on Day 2. The tournament has a Big Blind Ante feature coming into play from Level 2.
The Battle of Malta Main Event was last held at the live felt in 2019. The tournament attracted a massive field of 4,657 entries to create a total prize pool of more than €2 million. It was won by Serghei Lisii for €247,167.
The 2022 Battle of Malta Main Event costs €555 to enter but 888poker is giving players the chance to get in for much cheaper, via satellites running at the site. Players have two options – they may enter a series of satellites for as low as 1c, or go straight to the main satellite for $109. The winner will take home a Battle of Malta Main Event package worth $1,700.
The package includes the $555 entry fee to the Main Event for Day 1D. The lucky player also gets to enjoy 4 nights’ accommodation at the Intercontinental Hotel from October 7-11. Apart from that, the winner will receive travel allowance worth $350 deposited into the player’s 888poker account, plus an 888poker LIVE kit.
Apart from the Main Event, the schedule also includes a great selection of side events with buy-ins ranging from €65 to €1,100.
