Two premier poker brands, partypoker and the World Poker Tour (WPT) are teaming up once again for the 2021 WPT Online Series. The festival will take place from May 14 to June 2, featuring not just one, but two Main Events!
The festival opens with the $530 buy-in, $500,000 GTD Mini Main Event which has two starting flights running on May 15 & 16. Surviving players from both flights will battle it out for three more days, from May 17-19, to play down to a winner.
Players should free their schedules from May 23 to June 2 as during that period, the $3,200 Main Event will take place, featuring a massive guarantee of $3 million.
Players can enter via two starting flights, the first one will run on May 23, while the second one is scheduled a week later on May 30. The action continues through to June 2 until a winner is crowned.
Apart from the top prize, the winner of the $3M GTD Main Event will take home a luxury Hublot watch, and his or her name will also be etched on the prestigious Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
Main Event Satellites Running on partypoker
To reach the $3 million guarantee in the $3,200 Main Event, at least 1,000 players should take part. That number is highly achievable, given that partypoker is hosting plenty of satellites feeding into the event. These satellites are played as phase tournaments, meaning players can get in at any stage. They may choose to start from the bottom (Phase 1) which requires just $3.30 to enter.
If you are able to survive Phase 1, you will then progress to Phase 2, until you reach the finale scheduled on Sundays which will award at least 15 Main Event tickets. If you want a shorter route, you may skip Phase 1 and jump directly to Phase 2 for a buy-in of $33. You cannot directly buy in to the Sunday finale.
The Mini Main Event also has phase satellites available, starting at $0.55. Navigate your way to the finale and win a share of the 30 Mini Main Event seats on offer. Additionally, there are centrolls feeding into both the Mini and Main Event satellites which you can enter for as little as $0.01.
The upcoming WPT Online Series will also give players the chance to change their alias once again, as part of a new software update.
