Most celebrities use Twitter to promote their brand or to inform their followers of what they had for breakfast or where they are vacationing.
Some celebrities like poker great Daniel Negreanu and Phil Collins use Twitter to voice their opinions about sensitive issues like the Israel and Palestinian war and also terrorist group ISIS (The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) Celebrities and sportstars prefer to stay away from these sensitive topics because it can soon be blown out of proportion by news media and also social media. Rather than battle with negative press and create divisions among fans, celebrities prefer to keep their personal opinions to themselves.
While it is a common fact that professional poker players tend to keep their cards close to their chest, Negreanu has always defied that rule. Negreanu who uses the Twitter handle ‘realkidpoker’ had posted

As expected, the tweet immediately drew attention and many were quick to respond to Negreanu’s views. One of them was Phil Collins who made the WSOP final table in 2011.
Collins was upset with the fact that Negreanu supported Israel and openly attacked him on twitter

While Collins argument might appear to be logical at face value, Negreanu responded by asking Collin’s to get the full picture of the crisis in Gaza before deciding what is right and wrong.
Hamas, the terrorist organization in Palestine are using civilians as shields and firing rockets from hospitals, hotels and schools in Gaza and the Israel’s are retailing against these attacks. A number of news reports show that Hamas is using human shields as part of its strategy to portray Israel as the perpetrator of violence.
Negreanu also voiced his concerns over the terror group called ISIS who is currently beheading and persecuting Christians in Iraq. Reports suggest that ISIS is slaughtering over a thousand Christians everyday in the streets of Iraq. Negreanu’s condemnation of ISIS comes at a time when the U.S .government has finally decided to act and look at ways to rescue Christians in Iraq and curtail the evil of ISIS.
Negreanu is not shy to publicize his faith as a believer and his dependence in God. He once wrote in his blog the following statement
God is important to me. My life is better when I make God the center of it. When I don’t, regardless of any tournament success or accolades, I just can’t be happy unless I feel like I’m at a good place with God.
