PokerstarsOne of the reasons online poker has grown at such a rapid pace is because it gives the common man an opportunity of winning huge cash prizes and even becoming an overnight million. A Russian online poker player who goes by the screen name of “CccpVodka” decided to play a game of Spin & Go on PokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world.

CccpVodka” started his game with a $5 buy-in as he started his game at the table with fellow players “partalios” from Greece and “shooLarr” who was also from Russia. As soon as the game started, the players realized they were playing for a total prize package that was around $1.2 million. The game did not last long and wound up in 5 minutes and 59 seconds with “CccpVodka” taking the first prize and cash payout of $1 million. Both “partalios” and “shooLarr” received a cool $100,000 each as a consolation prize.

The Russian poker player now has the record of being the first online poker millionaire to feature under PokerStars unique promotion called “PokerStars Makes Millionaires“. In doing so “CccpVodka” also became the 23rd online poker player to win $1 million or more playing online poker.

The fact that an unknown poker player can turn into a millionaire playing online poker player is a huge drawing card for PokerStars and other online poker companies. The biggest online poker payout in the history of online poker is held by Tyson “POTTERPOKER” Marks who won the 2010 World Championship of Online Poker Main Event and took home $2,278,098.

Incidentally back in January 2015, another online poker from Russia who goes by the screen name of “sss66666” won $1 million playing Spin & Go on PokerStars. The online poker game last for 13 minutes and 25 seconds before “sss66666” was able to defeat the other two online poker players at the table.

There will most likely be a spike in Russian online poker players who sign up at the PokerStars website, as the million dollar prizes won by “sss66666” and “CccpVodka” will be a huge advertisement for PokerStars.

PokerStars is also running multiple tournaments such as the All-in Shootout Deposit Raffle from May 2-22; the Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event (High) on May 24 and the $1 million Spin & Go tournaments and expects to create a minimum of 5 new millionaires before the end of May 2015.
