UK & Ireland Poker TourPokerStars is current the biggest online poker website in the world and has its main office in the Isle of Man. The company recently announced that for the first time, the United Kingdom Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) would make a stopover at the Isle of Man.

The UKIPT will kick start on the 30th of October and wind up on the 4th of November.

During this time, PokerStars will host a special poker festival that will have a £1,100 buyin Main Event that comes with a £500,000 guarantee.

PokerStars has over 50 million registered players and expects a strong turnout at the Isle of Man. Apart from the poker tournaments being held at the Villa Marina, players at the UKIPT Isle of Man stop will also have the opportunity to get behind-the-scenes and have a sneak peak of how PokerStars manages and runs its global operations.

The company confirmed that it has plans to conduct an Open House, where guests will be able to opt for guided tours of the PokerStars facilities in Onchan as well as opt in for an exclusive tour of the PokerStars mega server facility that controls all online poker activity across the world.

In a statement, Kirsty Thompson, President of the UKIPT said

PokerStars is very proud to bring a large-scale poker festival to our corporate hometown to allow poker players to learn about PokerStars and our home. Being able to play, chat and compete with PokerStars employees at the tables will be an extra benefit as they visit the home of PokerStars.

There will be a number of unique tournaments held during the Isle of Man stop. Apart from the poker festival and main event, there will be a number of unique events including a poker tournament that will be used to raise funds for local charities. There will also be a £2,200 High Roller event.

PokerStars confirmed that for this event, it will also allow all PokerStars employees to take part in the various events. This is something unique as in general PokerStars does not allow its employees to take part at its events. Not only will PokerStars employees be allowed to play at the different events but they will also be permitted to play at the main event if they choose to do so.

Apart from the poker events and guided tours, PokerStars will also be conducting a job fair, where it will highlight all the job openings available on the Isle of Man and also advertise job opportunities with the Rational Group’s offices which are located in London and Dublin.
