Merge Gaming NetworkTwo of the more popular online poker sites have just closed up shop and as such are no longer operational, both of these sites were on the Merge Poker Network and it appears unlike in previous poker site closures that players account balances are not under threat and are safe.

These two poker sites who used skins of the Merge Network are Iron Duke Poker and Overbet Poker, players were contacted in recent days and advised that their account balance are not at risk and that they should, if they still want to play poker online, sign up at other sites who utilize the Merge Poker Network.

It would appear that the Merge Network and some of their major licensees are safeguarding players account balances due to the closure of these two poker sites, and three named sites are Sportsbook.com, Players Only Poker and Carbon Poker, the latter named being one of the better known skins on the Merge Poker Network.

It would appear however those players who had acquired any poker comp and loyalty points on these two poker sites will have to wave goodbye to those points as these are not being safeguarded nor are any tickets purchased for any upcoming poker tournaments.

In regards to the VIP level at which players of these now closed poker sites had manage to work their way up to, then these too have been lost and will not be transferred onto any other Merge Poker Network skin.

It also appears that other skins on the Merge Poker Network may be about to close with players wondering if the next one to close their doors would be the Poker View Poker site.

It has been something of a bumpy ride for many poker sites on the Merge Network recently as several other sites recently announced their closure which Black Chip Poker, Hero Poker and RPM all leaving the Merge Poker Network,

This is sad news for many online poker players as a lot of these players much preferred to play on the Merge Network as they enjoyed the way the software worked and operated and could always guarantee plenty of fellow players to take on in all manner of cash table games and poker tournaments.

We will watch with interest and will of course bring you any news on any other Merge Poker site closures the minute that news comes in.
